Carried Away
freeverse about the beauty, yet complexity, that is life.
Butterflies, like Jazz;
Frenetic and free.
The chords corral
Into something fairly distinguishable.
Sound? No. Something deeper:
Beauty.
Yes, that's it.
Flitting along as best we can,
Some of us are better at improvising
Than others.
Some of us can play saxophone.
Some get "caught up"
In translucent melodies.
A zigzag journey
Through open space.
Humid this summer
With something like tears,
Or maybe like joy!
We meet in the center
Of the meadow.
Some of us land
On spindles of grass
Resting--
Before the music
Lifts us up again.
And we're carried away . . .
I really like this poem. Like the rhythm and sentiment expressed in an artistic way.
